The Honesdale Golf Club Board of Directors are searching for committed, professional, high-energy Golf Course Team Member to maintain our beautiful and pristine golf course at Honesdale Golf Club.
Honesdale Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in Pennsylvania, chartered in 1900. Our golf club is a private club for the exclusive use of its members and their guests and is rich in traditions and family oriented in its values.
The Golf Course Team Member works closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Golf Professional on the outside golf operations on the course and around the club.
The Golf Course Team Member position is seasonal and available from mid-March (TBD) until late
November (TBD).
Steady, full-time schedule with bi-weekly pay. The applicant should be able to perform
physical labor, a positive attitude and be able to follow and
understand specific directions. Must be punctual and have your own
transportation with a valid driver's license. The team member will receive golfing and club house privileges at Honesdale Golf Club.
Previous golf course experience a plus.
This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and interact with members at a high-level.
Operates heavy equipment, such as utility tractors, tri-plex mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, backhoes, dump trucks, trenchers, sprayers, spreaders, and other utility vehicles as directed.
Operates light equipment, such as sod cutters, walking rotary mowers, line trimmers, edgers, blowers, rollers, walking aerifiers, walking reel mowers as directed.
Grades and prepares soil for seed, sod, plants, or trees; Lays sod; Plants vegetative materials; cultivates and trims vegetative materials.
Aerates and top-dresses greens, tees, fairways, and other areas in need of repair.
Helps in the installation and servicing of irrigation and drainage systems, hand waters if necessary.
Performs general maintenance and repair on all grounds and any course facility or building.
Mows, verticuts, aerifies, and top-dresses greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
Performs golf course set up as directed.
Assists in construction projects.
Perform other duties, as assigned by our superintendent of golf
Possession of a valid driver’s license
Must be at least 18 years of age
Dependable, motivated and accountable for results
Ingenuity and problem-solving skills for new and ongoing course projects
Flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction
Ability to adapt to and work in variable weather conditions
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 70 lbs, moving and/or lifting items with awkward weights.
Ability to Stand 6-8 Hours
A positive attitude while on the job is also essential.
